After unsuccessful attempts to combat cancer over the years, alternative treatment seems to be a potent antidote.

Traditional medicine already confirmed cancer as a genetic disease. It is characterized by uncontrolled growth of the cells in the human body as well as the ability of those cells to migrate from the original site and spread to other sites.

The Extent of Cancer's Damage

Cancer is responsible for one out of every four deaths in the United States. This is next to heart disease which is adjudged the number one cause of death. According to current statistics, about 1.2 million Americans are expected to be diagnosed with cancer each year. More than 500,000 are diagnosed as terminally ill. The most common cancers are skin cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer, breast cancer, and prostate cancer. Others include cancer of the kidneys, ovaries, uterus, pancreas, bladder, rectum, blood (leukemia), and lymph nodes (lymphoma).

A Closer Look at Various Types of Tumors

There are two types of tumors, benign or malignant. A benign tumor grows slowly and does not spread or invade surrounding tissue. It does not usually recur. In a different vein, a malignant tumor invades surrounding tissue and has the ability to spread to other parts of the body. If this happens, then, even after the primary malignant tumor is removed, it generally recurs either on the same area where it was removed or a new spot.

The Historical Antecedent of Cancer

Since the discovery of its first case in the ancient Egypt in 1500 B.C. (the first being a documented eight cases of tumors occurring on the breast), cancer has been one of the world's most dreaded diseases. Efforts by traditional or orthodox medicine to combat the monstrous ailment, over the centuries, seem to have been in jeopardy of a sort going by the appalling death rate of victims.

From mastectomy to chemotherapy, victims have suffered unnecessary excruciating mutilations as well as exposure to toxic allopathic radiation. Funny enough, alternative medicine seems to have postulated better and more efficacious measures that are both preventive and therapeutic.

Under this method, about 95 percent of the treatment administered on patients is wholly alternative chemotherapy. Patients receive Infusion Potentiation Therapy, IPT, Infrared, Hyperthermia, Nutritional Support, Oxygen Therapy and other holistic cancer therapies which have hitherto been adjudged the most efficacious in cancer treatment and management if the rate at which lives are saved by the unconventional approach is anything to go by.

An Encounter with Cancer

However, are there attendant aftermaths or side effects if a cancer patient opts for mainstream treatments? The air on this was cleared recently at a seminar organized by World Outreach Church for All Nations, WOCFAN, led by Pastor Bankole Akinmola.

At the seminar, Annmarie Fontanez, the president of The Cancer Foundation of Hope, TCFOH, spoke extensively on cancer and the alternative approach to its treatment. The events that preceded her being a crusader of alternative treatment to cancer were dramatic. In December 2003, while everyone across the globe was preparing for celebrations of Christmas and New Year, Annmarie was diagnosed breast cancer. She was advised to have a mastectomy and reconstruction within one week of her diagnosis but she declined both vowing never to go through the toxic allopathic traditional chemotherapy and radiation. Instead, she took solace in the alternative method by faith. After a couple of prayer sessions, she found an alternative treatment center where she underwent treatment for two weeks.

Tale of a Cancer Survivor

During this period, doctors at the center administered Infusion Potentiation Therapy, IPT, Infrared, Hyperthermia, Nutritional Support and Oxygen Therapy. Subsequently, Annmarie observed a three-month home protocols and a strict adherence to rules on how to purify the immune system with diet and nutrition as well as keep the body healthy. Unbelievably, at the end of the third month, she was diagnosed “cancer free” by an oncologist.

For Annmarie, the experience was empirical. It was the encounter that placed her at the forefront of alternative to cancer treatment crusade nationwide. Following her experience, she had established a foundation that later became a formidable force in the fierce battle against cancer – The Cancer Foundation of Hope, TCFOH, in April 2004. The foundation has partnered with Alpha Medical Institute and Alpha Medical Nutrition. “80 percent of those who went the alternative route are now living healthy lives”, Annmarie enthused.

Aside cancer, some health products have been developed to provide remedy or better still, serve as nutritional supplements for cardiovascular, chronic pain, detoxification, diabetes, hepatitis, hormone balance, hypertension, menopause, osteoporosis, prostrate, reflux disease and thyroid.

The article gives hope and options to those diagnosed with breast cancer, but promote and pioneers ones thoughts to investigate treatment options for others with different cancers. Also the author used rudimentary explanations to differentiate benign and malignant tumors without the scientific jargon which makes an easy read. Great Article......very educational!
